Cleanliness and home furniture

According to the Talmud;

‘The doctrines of religion are resolved into carefulness; carefulness into vigorousness; vigorousness into guiltlessness; guiltlessness into abstemiousness; abstemiousness into cleanliness; cleanliness into godliness.’

So cleanliness is the way to be near to the God but our catch-22 is that how much we are following this doctrine today? We are following it as far as our appearance is concerned without caring whether our home and its every item like furniture , doors and windows are cleaned or not . In our daily life we often meet with people having pleasant personalities but when we visit their homes we cannot find cleanliness anywhere even we can feel the layer of dust on some of their living or dining room furniture and that is the point where we actually meet that person because if a person cannot clean her/his own home then what else we can expect from him/her.

On the contrary there are many people who just don’t bother about their appearance and just focused on the cleanliness of their home which is also wrong. A man is a moderate being and is well equipped with the art of making balance between the things. When cleanliness is necessary then it should be applicable to all spheres from one’s own self to his surroundings.

As extreme of everything is bad similarly one should not be fanatical about cleanliness to such extend that he gets victim of some kind of psychological problem. In a word cleanliness is the state or the blessing that is given to a man and now it should be our duty  that everyone of us follow it in all spheres of life whether cleaning bedroom or living room furniture or keeping our environment or surrounding clean.
